Facebook Messenger is a popular messaging app that allows users to send messages, make voice and video calls, and share photos and videos. However, there may be times when you want to deactivate your Messenger account either because you want to take a break from social media or you want to switch to a different messaging app. Here’s how you can deactivate your Facebook Messenger account.

Step 1: Open the Facebook Messenger app on your device.

Step 2: Tap on your profile picture located at the top left corner of the screen.

Step 3: Scroll down and select ‘Account Settings’.

Step 4: Tap on ‘Security and Privacy’.

Step 5: Scroll down and select ‘Deactivate Messenger’.

Step 6: Tap ‘Deactivate’.

Step 7: Enter your Facebook password and tap ‘Continue’.

Step 8: Select a reason for deactivating your account.

Step 9: Tap ‘Deactivate’ again.

Once you’ve deactivated your Messenger account, you won’t be able to send or receive messages, make calls, or access your previous conversations. However, your Facebook account will still be active, and you will continue to receive notifications from Facebook.

If you change your mind later on and want to reactivate your Messenger account, all you need to do is log back into your account. Your previous messages and conversations will still be there.

In conclusion, deactivating Facebook Messenger is an easy and straightforward process. It’s a useful feature to use when you want to take a break from social media or just need to switch to a different messaging app. Remember to keep your Facebook password safe and secure, as it’s essential for deactivating and reactivating your Messenger account.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
