Connecting to a hidden Wi-Fi network can be a tricky and frustrating experience, especially if you are not familiar with the process. Windows 10 offers several methods to locate and connect to a hidden wireless network, but the steps may vary depending on the version of the operating system. This article will guide you through the process of connecting to a hidden Wi-Fi network in Windows 10.

Step One: Open the Windows 10 Settings app

The first step is to open the Windows 10 Settings app. You can access the Settings by clicking on the Start menu button and selecting the gear icon. Alternatively, you can press the Windows key + I on your keyboard to open the Settings app.

Step Two: Click on the “Network & Internet” settings

Once you are in the Settings app, click on the “Network & Internet” option. This will take you to a page with several networking options, including Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and VPN.

Step Three: Select the Wi-Fi option

Click on Wi-Fi in the list on the left side of the page. This will display a list of available Wi-Fi networks, including hidden Wi-Fi networks.

Step Four: Click on “Advanced Options.”

After selecting Wi-Fi, click on “Advanced options” beneath the Wi-Fi network list. This will bring up additional settings and options.

Step Five: Enter the hidden Wi-Fi network name

In the “Advanced options” section, look for the “Add a network” button. Click on the button, and a blank field will appear under “Network name.”

Enter the name of the hidden Wi-Fi network you want to connect to and make sure that the “Security type” and “Encryption type” fields match the settings for your network. If you are unsure of the security and encryption types for your network, you can contact your network administrator or refer to the documentation of your router.

Step Six: Enter the network password

After entering the hidden network name and adjusting the security settings, click on the “Connect” button. You will be prompted to enter the network password for the hidden Wi-Fi network you are trying to connect to. Enter the correct passphrase or network key and click on “Next.”

Step Seven: Save the hidden network settings

Once Windows 10 has successfully connected to the hidden Wi-Fi network, you will be prompted to save the network settings. Choose the “Yes” option to save the network settings. This will allow your computer to automatically connect to the hidden Wi-Fi network in the future without having to repeat these steps.

Conclusion

Connecting to a hidden Wi-Fi network in Windows 10 does not have to be a complicated process. By following these simple steps, anyone can connect to a hidden Wi-Fi network without the need for technical expertise. Remember to enter the correct network name, security settings, and encryption type, as well as the network password to complete the connection process successfully.
