If you’re a frequent Facebook user, it’s likely that you’ve noticed your newsfeed getting cluttered and slow. This is often due to the accumulation of cache on Facebook. Cache is basically temporary data that Facebook stores on your device to make the website load faster. However, over time, it can accumulate and slow down your browsing experience. In this article, we’ll take a look at how you can clear the cache on Facebook to improve the speed of the site.

Clearing the Cache on Facebook in a Desktop Browser

Step 1: Log in to your Facebook account and click on the arrow icon located at the top-right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Select the ‘Settings & Privacy’ option, followed by ‘Settings.’

Step 3: On the left-hand side of the screen, you’ll see a column of options. Click on ‘Your Facebook Information.’

Step 4: Select the ‘View’ option next to ‘Clear History.’

Step 5: You’ll see a pop-up window with options to clear your browsing history. Select ‘Cookies and other site data’ and ‘Cached images and files.’

Step 6: Click on the ‘Clear History’ button.

Step 7: Once the process is complete, Facebook will notify you with a message. Your cache has now been cleared.

Clearing the Cache on Facebook in the Facebook App (Android and iOS)

Step 1: Open the Facebook app and tap on the three horizontal lines located in the upper right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Scroll down the menu and tap on the ‘Settings & Privacy’ option.

Step 3: Tap on ‘Settings’ and then select ‘Media and Contacts.’

Step 4: Look for the option called ‘Clear Cache.’

Step 5: Tap on ‘Clear Cache,’ and a pop-up screen will appear, asking if you’re sure you want to clear the cache. Confirm the action.

Step 6: The app will then clear the cache.

Clearing the Cache on Facebook Lite (Android)

Step 1: Open the Facebook Lite app and tap on the three horizontal lines located in the upper right corner of the screen.

Step 2: Scroll to the bottom of the menu and select ‘Settings.’

Step 3: Tap on ‘Clear Cache.’

Step 4: A pop-up window will appear, asking if you’re sure you want to clear the cache. Confirm the action.

Step 5: The app will then clear the cache.

In conclusion, it’s a good idea to clear the Facebook cache periodically to ensure that the website and app run smoothly. You can easily accomplish this by following the steps outlined above. By doing so, you’ll notice an improvement in the speed and performance of the site.
