Cleaning up dog diarrhea can be a daunting task, but it’s essential to maintain a clean and bacteria-free environment for your dog. In this article, we will discuss the ten steps to properly clean up dog diarrhea, ensuring that you keep your home safe and hygienic.

.Prepare your cleaning materials: Gather all necessary supplies, such as disposable gloves, paper towels, plastic bags, cleaning solution, a scrub brush or sponge, and a bucket of warm water.

.Put on gloves: To protect yourself from bacteria and potential infections, wear disposable gloves before handling any pet waste.

.Remove solids: Use paper towels or a plastic scraper to remove as much solid waste as possible. Dispose of the waste in a sealable plastic bag.

.Blot the area: Use more paper towels to blot the affected area and soak up as much liquid as possible. Dispose of soiled paper towels in the same sealed plastic bag as before.

.Apply cleaning solution: Use an enzyme-based cleaner specially designed for pet stains and odors. These cleaners break down bacteria and neutralize odors better than regular household cleaners. Follow the instructions on the label and apply the cleaner liberally to the affected area.

.Scrub with a brush or sponge: Gently scrub the stained area with a scrub brush or sponge soaked in warm water to help lift any remaining residue from the surface.

.Rinse the area: After scrubbing, use clean water to rinse away any remaining cleaner or debris from the surface. Be sure to thoroughly wet the area without causing further damage to your flooring or carpet.

.Dry the area: Use clean paper towels or a dry cloth to pat dry the cleaned area completely. You may also open windows or use fans to help speed up the drying process.

.Dispose of waste materials: Seal all used paper towels, plastic bags, and gloves in a strong garbage bag and dispose of them in an outdoor trash receptacle.

.Sanitize your cleaning supplies: Wash the scrub brush or sponge you used in hot, soapy water to remove any remaining bacteria. Dispose of gloves and wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water.

Cleaning up dog diarrhea may not be an enjoyable task, but following these ten steps will ensure that you address the mess effectively and keep your home safe and clean for both you and your canine companion.
