Gmail is a popular email service used by millions of people worldwide. While writing an email or composing a message in Gmail, it is essential to ensure that there are no spelling errors. Having a typo or grammatical mistake in an email can give an unprofessional impression to the recipient. Fortunately, Gmail has a built-in spell checker that can help you identify and correct spelling mistakes. In this article, we will discuss how to check spelling in Gmail.

Steps to check spelling in Gmail:

1. Log in to your Gmail account.

2. Click on the “Compose” button to create a new message or reply to an existing message.

3. Type your message in the email body.

4. Click on the three vertical dots on the bottom right corner of the email body.

5. Select “Check spelling” from the options menu.

Gmail’s spell checker will automatically highlight misspelled or unclear words with a red underline. To correct the mistake, right-click on the word, and select the correct spelling from the suggestions offered. You can also choose to add the word to your browser’s dictionary.

Alternatively, you can turn on Automatic Spell Check in Gmail. To do this:

1. Click on the “Settings” gear icon on the top-right corner of the Gmail dashboard.

2. Select “Settings” from the drop-down menu.

3. Scroll down to the “General” section.

4. Turn on the “Enable spell checker” option.

Once you have enabled spell check, Gmail will automatically highlight misspelled words in your emails as you type. This real-time feature will help you catch any mistakes as you write, making it easier to correct them before you send the message.

In conclusion, checking the spelling of an email in Gmail is a crucial aspect of email communication. A typo or incorrect grammar usage can create a wrong impression on the recipient. However, Gmail’s spell checker can help you identify and correct spelling errors. Additionally, you can also enable Automatic Spell Check to catch any mistakes in real-time. Following these simple steps will help you produce professional and error-free emails.
