Changing your Xbox gamertag is a simple process that allows you to update your username and make it more unique among the gaming community. It is a great way to personalize your gaming experience and make your mark on your favorite games. In this article, we will provide you with step-by-step instructions on how to change your Xbox gamertag.

Step 1: Sign in to your Xbox account

The first step to changing your Xbox gamertag is to sign in to your account. You can do this by navigating to the Sign in tab in the top right corner of the Xbox homepage. Enter your email and password, and click on Sign in.

Step 2: Access your Xbox profile

Once you have signed in to your Xbox account, click on your profile icon in the top right corner. This will take you to your Xbox profile page.

Step 3: Select the “Customize profile” option

On your profile page, you will see a button that says “Customize profile.” Click on this button to access the customization options for your Xbox profile.

Step 4: Click on “Change gamertag”

Under the “My profile” section of the customization options, you will see an option for “Change gamertag”. Click on this option to begin changing your Xbox gamertag.

Step 5: Choose your new gamertag

Once you have clicked on “Change gamertag”, you will be prompted to choose a new Xbox gamertag. Enter your desired username in the field provided, and click on “Check availability” to see if the name is available.

Step 6: Confirm your new gamertag

If your chosen gamertag is available, click on “Claim it” to confirm your new username. You will be asked to confirm your selection one more time before finalizing the change.

Step 7: Pay the required fee

Finally, you will be required to pay a fee of $9.99 to change your Xbox gamertag. This fee is charged once every time you change your gamertag, so be sure to choose a name that you will be happy with for a long time.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
