Introduction

Safari is a widely-used web browser that is especially popular among Apple users. One of its appealing features is its simplicity and ease of use. However, there might be a time when you want to change your start page on Safari to better suit your browsing needs. This article will guide you through the steps required to easily change your start page on Safari.

Step 1: Open Safari Preferences

First, open up the Safari browser on your computer. Once it’s open, navigate to the top left side of your screen and click on “Safari” in the menu bar. Then, select “Preferences” from the drop-down menu. This will bring up the Preferences window.

Step 2: Accessing General Settings

In the Preferences window, you should see several icons at the top representing different settings categories. Click on the “General” icon, which is typically marked by a gear symbol.

Step 3: Modify Homepage URL

At this point, you should see various options related to how Safari opens and operates. Look for a section that says “Homepage,” along with a text box below it displaying the current homepage URL.

To change your start page, simply click on that text box and type in or paste your desired start page URL (e.g., https://www.google.com/). You can also set it as an empty default by erasing all text in the box.

Step 4: Set New Tabs and Windows to Open with Homepage

In order to quickly access your new start page with each new tab or window opened in Safari, you need to adjust your settings accordingly.

Below the Homepage section in General settings, locate options that say “New windows open with” and “New tabs open with.” Click on each drop-down menu beside these options and select “Homepage” from the list.

Step 5: Save Your Changes

Once you’ve made all necessary adjustments, simply close the Preferences window. Safari will automatically save your changes, and your new start page is now set.

Conclusion

Changing your start page on Safari is a simple process that can customize your browsing experience to better align with your needs and preferences. By following these easy steps, you can update your start page and enjoy seamless browsing on the Safari web browser.
