Introduction

Facebook is one of the most popular social media platforms used by millions of people worldwide to stay connected with friends and family. Having accurate personal information, such as your birthday,
helps your friends wish you well on your special day. However, if you ever want to edit or change your birthday on Facebook, you have the option to do so. This article will provide a step-by-step guide on how to change your birthday on Facebook.

Steps

1. Log in to your Facebook account: Access the platform either via the website or the mobile app and enter your login details.

2. Go to your profile: Click on your profile picture or name at the top of the screen (website) or bottom right corner (mobile app), which will take you to your profile page.

3. Access “About” section: On the desktop site click “About” below your cover photo; for mobile users tap “More” below the profile picture and then select “About.”

4. Open “Contact and Basic Info”: Scroll down until you see “Contact and Basic Info” box and click on it.

5. Locate “Birth Date” or “Birth Year”: Within the Basic Information sub-section, find the “Birth Date” or “Birth Year” field.

6. Click on “Edit”: For desktop users, hover over the Birth Date/Year field and click on “Edit” button appearing on the right side of it; for mobile users tap on “Edit” located under Birth Date/Year field.

7. Change your Birthday details: A pop-up window will appear where you can change the Day, Month, and Year by clicking or tapping on individual date elements.

8. Adjust Privacy settings (optional): To limit who can see your birthday information, select appropriate options from at least one of these privacy dropdown menus – Who can see your Birth Date and/or Who can see your Birth Year.

9. Save changes: Once you have made the desired changes, click or tap on “Save” to update your birthday information.

Conclusion

With these simple steps, you can easily change your birthday on Facebook. Keep in mind that this process may slightly differ depending on the device and app version you are using. Always ensure that your personal information is up-to-date and accurate to help your friends and family stay connected with you. Happy socializing!
