Outlook is one of the most commonly used email services worldwide. It offers numerous features, including customizable email notification sound. With Outlook, you can change the email notification sound to help distinguish email notifications from other system sounds. In this article, we’ll discuss how to change the Outlook email notification sound.

Steps to Change the Outlook Email Notification Sound

Step 1: Launch Outlook on Your Device

The first step to changing the email notification sound in Outlook is to launch the application. You can do this by double-clicking on the Outlook icon on your desktop or by searching for it in the Start menu if you’re using Windows.

Step 2: Select the ‘File’ Tab

Once you’ve launched Outlook, click on the ‘File’ tab located on the top left corner of the application’s window. A drop-down menu will appear with several options.

Step 3: Click on ‘Options’

After selecting the ‘File’ tab, click on the ‘Options’ button. This will open a new window where you can access various options to personalize your Outlook settings.

Step 4: Choose ‘Mail’ in the Left Menu

Once you’re on the Outlook Options window, you’ll see several categories in the left menu. From the left menu, select ‘Mail’ to access email settings.

Step 5: Select ‘Sounds’

Under the Mail category, you’ll see an option named ‘Sounds.’ Click on this option to access the settings for your email notification sound.

Step 6: Choose the Desired Email Notification Sound

After clicking on ‘Sounds,’ you’ll see a list of email events such as ‘New Mail Notification’ and ‘Mail Received.’ For each email event, you can select a different sound by clicking on the drop-down menu next to ‘Sound.’

Step 7: Test the Sound

After selecting the desired sound, click on the ‘Test’ button to make sure it’s the sound you want. If it’s not, you can choose another sound and test it again until you find the right one.

Step 8: Save Changes

Once you’ve selected a sound, click on the ‘OK’ button, and then click on ‘Apply’ or ‘OK’ in the Outlook Options window to save your changes.

Conclusion

By following these easy steps, you can change the Outlook email notification sound to any sound of your choice. Customizing the sound can help you easily identify when you’ve received an email in your Outlook inbox. It’s a quick and straightforward process that anyone can complete in a matter of minutes.
