How to Change Language on Apple Watch

Changing the language on your Apple Watch can personalize your experience and make it easier to use if you’re more comfortable with a language other than the default. The Apple Watch’s language is tied to your paired iPhone’s language settings, so by changing the language on your iPhone, you can also adjust the language on your Apple Watch. Here’s how to do it:

1. Start on your iPhone: Since the Apple Watch mirrors many of the settings from your paired iPhone, you’ll begin the process there. Unlock your iPhone and head to the Settings app.

2. Go to Language & Region: Within Settings, scroll down and tap on “General.” From there, find “Language & Region.”

3. Change iPhone Language: Tap “iPhone Language” and choose your desired language from the list provided. Confirm the change and wait for your iPhone to finish updating.

4. Open the Apple Watch app: Return to your home screen and launch the Apple Watch app – this is the app where you can customize watch faces, adjust notifications, and change general settings for your watch.

5. Update Apple Watch Settings: In the Apple Watch app, go into “General” settings and look for a language option. However, if you’ve changed the iPhone’s main language, it should have automatically adjusted the language setting on your watch, as well.

6. Sync Changes: Any changes you make will need to sync with your Apple Watch. Make sure that your watch is near your iPhone and is charged enough to handle a syncing process.

7. Restart Devices if Necessary: If you don’t see the language change taking effect right away on your Apple Watch, try restarting both your watch and iPhone to refresh the connection and sync new settings.

Remember that changing the system language will affect all system apps and many third-party apps as well; however, some third-party apps may not support all languages and therefore might not change.

Following these steps will help you successfully change the language on both your iPhone and Apple Watch, ensuring a seamless experience in your preferred tongue across both devices.

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject.
