Changing app icons on an Android device can be fun and exciting as it allows you to personalize your device and express your creativity. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to change app icons on Android devices.

Step 1: Download a Third-Party Icon Pack

The first step is to download a third-party icon pack. There are several icon packs available online, ranging from free to paid versions. Some of the popular icon packs include CandyCons, Rewun, and Whicons. Once you have chosen your preferred icon pack, download and install it on your device.

Step 2: Install a Third-Party Launcher

Next, you will need to install a third-party launcher such as Nova Launcher, Apex Launcher, or Evie Launcher. These launchers come with customization options that allow you to change app icons, themes, and wallpapers.

Step 3: Enable Icon Theme Support

After downloading and installing the launcher, navigate to the settings and enable the option for icon theme support. This option is usually found under the “Look & feel” or “Display” settings. Enabling icon theme support will allow you to change app icons easily.

Step 4: Choose Your Preferred Icon Pack

Once you have enabled icon theme support, go to the launcher settings and choose the icon pack you downloaded earlier. Selecting the icon pack will automatically change app icons on your device.

Step 5: Change Individual App Icons

If you want to customize individual app icons, long-press on the app icon you want to change. A menu will appear, and you will need to select “Edit” or “Change app icon” depending on your launcher. You can then select your preferred icon from the icon pack and choose to apply it to that specific app icon.

Step 6: Reset to Default Icons

If you want to revert to the default icons, follow the same steps as above and choose the option to reset the app icon to its default.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
