If you own a Dish DVR, you may have come across the Dual Mode feature. This feature allows you to record two different TV shows at the same time. However, if you no longer require this feature and want to go back to the Single Mode, you may need to cancel the Dual Mode. Here is a guide to help you to cancel the Dual Mode on your Dish DVR.

Step 1: Access your Dish DVR menu

Press the menu button on your remote control to access the main menu. Scroll down to the bottom and select “Settings.”

Step 2: Navigate to the “Recordings” tab

Scroll down to “Recordings,” and then click the “Recordings Preferences” tab. You’ll see a list of options, including “Dual Mode.”

Step 3: Disable Dual Mode

Select “Dual Mode” and then click “Off” to disable it. You will receive an on-screen prompt asking you to confirm your selection. Read the prompt carefully and if you are sure you want to disable Dual Mode, click “Yes.”

Step 4: Confirm

After selecting “Yes,” the Dual Mode feature will be disabled, and you can return to watching TV as normal.

Step 5: Restart your DVR

If the feature does not stop working after you have followed the above steps, try restarting your DVR. Press and hold down the power button on the front of the DVR for 10 seconds. After the device shuts down, wait a minute and then turn it back on by pressing the power button again. This will ensure that the feature is completely disabled.

In conclusion, disabling the Dual Mode feature on your Dish DVR should be straightforward if you follow the steps above. Remember that if you want to use this feature again in the future, you can always enable it again from the same settings menu. Happy viewing!
