Looking to buy a domain name and not sure where to start? Google Domains is a straightforward and user-friendly platform for purchasing and managing domain names. Here are the steps you need to follow to purchase a domain name in Google Domains.

  1. Sign up or log in to Google Domains: If you don’t already have a Google Domains account, head over to domains.google.com and create one. If you already have an account, simply log in.
  2. Search for a domain name: Once you’re logged in, use the search bar on the homepage to search for the domain you want. Be sure to check the availability of the domain and any alternative options that may be suggested.
  3. Check the price and add to cart: Once you’ve found the domain you want and confirmed its availability, check the price and add it to your cart. You can also choose to add domain privacy for an additional fee.
  4. Review your order: Before proceeding to checkout, review your order carefully to ensure that you have the correct domain and any additional features you want.
  5. Choose a payment method: Google Domains accepts all major credit cards as well as PayPal, so choose the payment method that works best for you.
  6. Submit your order: Once you’ve selected your payment method, click the “Submit Order” button to finalize your purchase.
  7. Verify your ownership: After purchasing your domain, you will need to verify your ownership. Google Domains provides several methods of verification, including email confirmation and uploading a verification file to your website.

And that’s it! You’ve successfully purchased your domain name through Google Domains. Congratulations!

Don’t forget that once you’ve purchased your domain, you will need to choose a website builder or hosting platform to create and publish your website. Google Domains partners with several website builders and hosting providers, so be sure to explore those options as well.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
