Step 1: Purchase a St. Joseph statue

To begin the process of burying St. Joseph, you’ll need to purchase a small statue of St. Joseph, preferably made of plastic or some other weather-resistant material.

Step 2: Prepare a cloth bag or wrapping

In order to protect the statue, gather a small cloth bag or another form of soft wrapping. This will help keep it safe from damage while buried.

Step 3: Say a prayer

Before burying the statue, take a moment to say a prayer to Saint Joseph. This can be any prayer that resonates with you or one specifically invoking his intercession in your real estate endeavors.

Step 4: Wrap the statue

Carefully wrap the St. Joseph statue in the chosen cloth bag or wrapping materials that you’ve prepared.

Step 5: Choose your location

Select an appropriate location where you will bury the statue. Traditional practice suggests that you bury the statue near your For Sale sign or close to the road if you don’t have a yard.

Step 6: Dig a hole

Using a small shovel or other digging tools, dig a hole deep enough to bury the wrapped St. Joseph statue completely. The hole should be around 3-4 inches deep.

Step 7: Position the statue facing your home

As you place the St. Joseph statue in the burial hole, ensure that it’s facing towards your home. This is believed to invite his protection and guidance over your property sale.

Step 8: Bury the statue and say another prayer

After positioning St. Joseph properly, cover him with soil until he is fully buried in your chosen location. Following this, say another prayer for his intercession and guidance during your home selling process.

Step 9: Maintain faith and patience

The success of this tradition is often thought to rely on your faith and belief in St. Joseph’s abilities. Remain patient as you wait for potential buyers and trust that the saint will help in the sale of your home.

Step 10: Check for legal requirements

In some areas, there may be legal requirements or restrictions on burying items in your yard. Be sure to check any local regulations that might apply to ensure you are not breaking any laws in the process.

Step 11: Show gratitude

Once your home has sold, remember to express gratitude to St. Joseph for his guidance and assistance. Some choose to dig up the statue after the sale and place it in a prominent location within their new home as a sign of appreciation.

By following these 11 steps, you can bury a St. Joseph statue in hopes of a smooth and successful home selling experience. Always remember that maintaining faith in St. Joseph’s intercession is instrumental during this process, and allow yourself patience as potential buyers come to view your property.
