Creating a physical copy of your favorite playlist or album is still in demand, even in today’s digital age. Burning a CD allows you to enjoy your favorite tunes without an internet connection in your car, home stereo, or any other CD player. iTunes makes this process easy and hassle-free. In this article, we’ll outline 15 steps to burn a CD with iTunes.

Step 1: Install iTunes

If you don’t already have iTunes installed on your computer, download it from the official website (www.apple.com/itunes) and follow the installation instructions.

Step 2: Launch iTunes

Open the application by either double-clicking its icon on your desktop or by searching for it in your applications folder.

Step 3: Create a new playlist

Click on “File” in the top left-hand corner and then click “New” followed by “Playlist.”

Step 4: Name your playlist

Click on the playlist’s default name and type in an appropriate title for your CD.

Step 5: Add songs to the playlist

Navigate through your iTunes library and drag and drop songs onto the new playlist.

Step 6: Check CD length

Keep an eye on the bottom right corner of the iTunes window to ensure that the total runtime of your playlist is compatible with the storage capacity of your blank CD (usually around 80 minutes).

Step 7: Insert a blank CD

Place a blank CD-R or CD-RW disc into your computer’s CD drive.

Step 8: Select your playlist

Click once on your newly created playlist to ensure it’s selected.

Step 9: Export menu

Click on “File” again at the top left-hand corner of iTunes, then hover over “Burn Playlist to Disc.”

Step 10: Burn settings

A “Burn Settings” dialog box will appear. Choose your preferred settings – such as speed and disc format – and click “Burn.”

Step 11: Wait for the process

iTunes will now begin burning your CD. Keep an eye on the progress bar to see how close the burning process is to completion.

Step 12: Eject the CD

Once the burning process is complete, iTunes will automatically eject your CD.

Step 13: Label your CD

Use a permanent marker or CD labeler to write the playlist’s title and any other relevant information on the disc.

Step 14: Test your CD

Insert your newly burned CD into a CD player and ensure it plays correctly.

Step 15: Enjoy!

Now that you’ve successfully burned a CD, bring it along during your next car ride, share it with friends or archive it for future listening. With these simple steps, you can easily create a curated collection of your favorite tunes using iTunes.

Happy burning!
