1. Set a budget: Before beginning your search, set a budget for your hotel room to narrow down your choices and avoid spending more than you can afford.

2. Choose travel dates: Determine your check-in and check-out dates so you know exactly when you will need the room.

3. Research the location: Make a list of the attractions, activities, or events you want to visit during your trip. Use this information to select a hotel that is conveniently located near these points of interest.

4. Compare prices and ratings: Use hotel price comparison websites, like Booking.com or Expedia, to view available hotels in your desired location, compare prices and ratings, and read reviews from previous guests.

5. Identify amenities: Prioritize the amenities that matter most to you (e.g., complimentary breakfast, Wi-Fi, swimming pool), and use filters to refine your search according to these preferences.

6. Read customer reviews: Pay close attention to customer reviews when making your decision. Look for recurring themes in reviews—both positive and negative—to get a better understanding of the hotel’s reputation.

7. Contact hotels directly: Reach out to hotels that interest you, either by email or phone, for additional information and potentially exclusive deals not available through third-party booking sites.

8. Book online or over the phone: Once you have chosen a hotel, decide whether to book online through a comparison website or by calling the hotel directly. In some cases, booking directly with the hotel may result in better deals or offers.

9. Verify your reservation: After completing your booking, double-check your confirmation email — or call the hotel —to ensure all details are correct.

10. Cancel within specified time frame if necessary: If plans change and you need to cancel your reservation, remember to do so within the designated cancellation period (outlined in your confirmation email) in order to avoid penalties or fees.

By following these 10 steps, you can confidently book a hotel room that suits your needs and budget, ensuring your trip is enjoyable and stress-free.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
