If you want to limit yourself, or your kids, from accessing YouTube on your iPad, then there are several ways to get it done. Here are some of the techniques that you can use to block YouTube on your iPad.

1. Use Guided Access:

Guided Access is a feature that is available in the iPad settings, which can be used to lock the device into a single app. This feature is helpful when you want to limit access to a single app, and keep the user from opening other applications. For instance, you can use Guided Access to lock your iPad into Safari and prevent the user from opening YouTube. Here is how to use Guided Access:

– Go to Settings > Accessibility > Guided Access

– Enable Guided Access (flip the switch)

– Open YouTube

– Triple-click the Home button to launch Guided Access.

– Tap Options in the bottom left corner of the screen and disable touch, thus preventing the user from accessing the home screen.

– Hit the Start button to enable Guided Access

You can disable Guided Access by triple-clicking on the home button and entering the correct passcode.

2. Use Parental Controls:

Parental Controls allow you to set restrictions on specific applications, websites, or features, which can be used to block YouTube. To set up Parental Controls, you need to follow the following steps:

– Go to Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions

– Toggle the switch beside Content & Privacy Restrictions to On.

– Enter a four-digit passcode to set up restrictions.

– Scroll down to the Allow section and select ‘Limit Adult Websites’

– Go to the ‘Allowed Apps’ section, and disable YouTube.

3. Use Restrictions:

Restrictions are also a useful way to block YouTube on your iPad. The process is straightforward, and all you need to do is follow these simple steps:

– Go to Settings > General > Restrictions

– Tap Enable Restrictions and enter a passcode.

– Scroll down the restrictions menu and look for the option labeled “YouTube.”

– Disable YouTube

Blocking YouTube on your iPad is easy, but it is also a big decision that parents need to make after careful consideration. In this age of digitization, YouTube has become the go-to source for information, entertainment, and sometimes education. However, some videos on YouTube are not suitable for young children, which is why it’s essential to take control and limit access to YouTube. The methods listed above are all safe and reliable ways to block YouTube on your iPad. Use them according to your needs and preferences.
