In today’s digital age, it’s essential to know how to block websites on your iPhone to maintain a healthy online experience and prevent unwanted content from entering our screens. Be it for increased productivity, parental control, or simply maintaining better focus, blocking certain websites can prove to be beneficial. Fortunately, Apple has provided an easy way to restrict access to websites through its Screen Time feature. In this article, we will guide you through a step-by-step process on blocking websites on an iPhone.

Step 1: Open the Settings App

On your iPhone’s home screen, locate and tap on the “Settings” app symbolized by a gear icon.

Step 2: Navigate to Screen Time

Once in the Settings menu, scroll down until you find “Screen Time” and tap on it. This feature lets you monitor and control your device usage.

Step 3: Enable Screen Time

If you haven’t previously enabled Screen Time, tap on “Turn On Screen Time,” followed by “Continue.” Choose either “This is My iPhone” or “This is My Child’s iPhone,” depending on your purpose for blocking websites.

Step 4: Open Content & Privacy Restrictions

In the Screen Time settings page, click on “Content & Privacy Restrictions.” Ensure that the toggle switch at the top of this page is turned on (it should be green when enabled) before proceeding.

Step 5: Access Content Restrictions

Within “Content & Privacy Restrictions,” click on “Content Restrictions.” This will open a new menu where you can manage different types of digital content.

Step 6: Restrict Web Content

Scroll down until you reach the “Web Content” section. Tap on it to access web content restrictions.

Step 7: Configure Website Blocking Options

In the Web Content settings, select one of the following options:

A) Limit Adult Websites – This option will block most known adult-content websites automatically. You can later customize the list with additions or exceptions.

B) Allowed Websites Only – Choose this option to specify a list of websites that can be accessed, while all other sites will automatically be blocked.

Step 8: Add or Remove Custom Websites

To add or remove websites from the blocked or allowed list, scroll down and tap on “Add a Website” under the “NEVER ALLOW” or “ALWAYS ALLOW” sections. Enter the complete web address, and it’ll be added or removed accordingly.

That’s it! You have successfully blocked websites on your iPhone. To unblock any website, simply navigate back to your Screen Time settings and remove it from the restricted list as needed. Stay in control of your online experience and enjoy improved focus and productivity with these easy-to-follow steps.
