Step 1: Log in to your WordPress website

To begin with, log in to your WordPress website by entering your username and password.

Step 2: Access the posts section

Once you are logged into the dashboard, go to ‘Posts’ on the left-hand side of the screen and click on ‘All Posts.’

Step 3: Choose the post or create a new one

You have two options here – either edit an existing post or create a new post. To edit, hover over the title of the post you want to modify and click ‘Edit.’ For a new post, click on ‘Add New’ at the top of the screen.

Step 4: Add tags in the editor

When you are in the post editor, locate the ‘Tags’ section on the right-hand side of the screen. You may need to scroll down a bit to find it.

Step 5: Enter your tags

Type your desired tag into the text field and press enter. You can add as many tags as you like, just separate them with commas.

Step 6: Save or update your changes

If you are editing an existing post, click on ‘Update’ in the top right corner of the screen. If you are creating a new post, click on ‘Save Draft’ or ‘Publish,’ depending on whether you want to save it for later or make it live immediately.

Step 7: View your post with tags

Click on ‘View Post’ at the top of your screen once you have saved or published it. You will see your tags listed at the bottom of the post content.

Step 8: Manage tags from your dashboard

If you want to view all of your tags, go back to your dashboard, hover over ‘Posts,’ and then click on ‘Tags.’ This section will display all of your created tags, along with options to edit or delete them.

In conclusion, adding tags to your WordPress posts is a simple process that can significantly improve your website’s search engine optimization and user navigation. Incorporate these eight steps into your regular content creation routine to optimize your blog for both search engines and readers.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
