Functionality is key when looking for an LMS. Every usable LMS should have a variety of functions to make learning and working more efficient. Here are five key functions that every LMS should have:

  1. Collaboratively Editing Documents

Collaborative editing is a key function for any LMS. It allows students and employees to work on the same document at the same time, making it easier to get work done.

  1. Course Management

LMSs should have course management tools to help faculty and students keep track of their classes and assignments. This allows students to track their progress and the professor to manage classes and assignments.

  1. Course Structures

LMSs should have a variety of course structures to accommodate a variety of learning styles. This includes features like themes, genres, and modules.

  1. Student Records

LMSs should have tools to keep track of students’ progress and records of their academic achievements. This allows faculty and students to stay connected and be able to track their progress over time.

  1. Collaborative Learning

Collaborative learning is a key function of any LMS. It allows students and employees to work together on projects, tasks, and discussions to improve their understanding of the material.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
