Fitb Charge 3 Review: Still One of the Best Casual Fitness Trackers with One Missing Piece

The Fitbit Charge 3, although not the latest model from the well-known brand, stands strong as one of the best casual fitness trackers on the market. With its sleek design, user-friendly interface, and powerful tracking capabilities, it remains a popular choice for those looking to improve their overall health and fitness. Despite its many strengths, there is one missing piece that some users may find disappointing. In this review, we’ll discuss the various features of the Fitbit Charge 3 and address the device’s one notable shortcoming.

Design and Comfort

The Fitbit Charge 3 sports a minimalistic look that’s both stylish and functional. Its lightweight design makes it comfortable to wear all day long, whether you’re working out or going about your daily routine. The adjustable bands ensure a secure fit for any wrist size, and there are multiple band options available to cater to individual preferences.

Display

The display on the Fitbit Charge 3 is monochrome, which may seem outdated considering many other fitness trackers now offer full-color interfaces. However, this grayscale display allows for extended battery life while still providing easy readability in various lighting conditions. The touchscreen interface is intuitive to use, allowing users to access their data effortlessly.

Fitness Tracking Capabilities

The main selling point of the Fitbit Charge 3 is its robust fitness tracking abilities. It tracks activities like steps, distance, calories burned, heart rate, and sleep patterns. With automatic detection for exercises like running and swimming, the device offers users a hassle-free way to monitor their workouts. Additionally, the sleep tracking feature analyzes sleep stages to give users deep insights into their sleep quality.

Water Resistance

One of the standout features of the Fitbit Charge 3 is its water resistance capability. This tracker boasts a 5 ATM rating, meaning it can withstand water pressure up to 50 meters. This functionality is perfect for swimmers as well as those who like to keep their trackers on during showers.

Battery Life

The extended battery life of the Fitbit Charge 3 is another plus, lasting up to a week on a single charge. This allows users to wear the tracker continuously without needing constant recharging.

The Missing Piece: GPS

Now, let’s address the missing piece that some users may find underwhelming – the absence of a built-in GPS. While the Fitbit Charge 3 has connected GPS functionality, meaning you can still track your location through your paired smartphone, those looking for stand-alone GPS capabilities will be disappointed.

Conclusion

Despite its lack of built-in GPS, the Fitbit Charge 3 remains an excellent choice for casual fitness enthusiasts. Offering a comfortable design and powerful tracking features, it’s an easy-to-use tracker that can make a significant impact on your overall health and wellbeing. If built-in GPS functionality is not a dealbreaker for you, this device is certainly worth considering.
