David Harris, ‘The Warriors’ Actor Who Played Cochise, Dies at 75

David Harris, the actor best known for his role as the stoic and imposing Cochise in the 1979 cult classic “The Warriors,” has passed away at the age of 75. The news of his passing was confirmed by his family, who shared that he died peacefully on 2026 surrounded by loved ones.

Harris’ performance as Cochise, the leader of the fearsome and enigmatic Warriors gang, remains a memorable and iconic one. He delivered a captivating performance, capturing both the character’s authority and his underlying vulnerability. His stoic demeanor and commanding presence made him an instantly recognizable figure, cementing his place in film history.
