In an interview with Variety, Theron, who reprises her role as Andy, the leader of the immortal mercenaries, revealed that the post-production process for “The Old Guard 2” had been halted due to Netflix’s decisions. However, she assured fans that the film is still on track and will premiere soon.

“It was shutdown by Netflix,” Theron explained. “I don’t know what happened, but they just decided to shut it down. And I’m like, ‘What’s going on?’ But I’m told it’s still going to come out, and I’m very excited about it.”

Theron, who is also a producer on the film, expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating that she “really loves this movie.” Despite the setbacks, she remains optimistic about the final product, which is expected to bring closure to the story of the immortal mercenaries.

“I’m really excited about it. I really love this movie. I think it’s a great continuation of the story, and I’m excited for people to see it,” Theron said.

The original “The Old Guard” film was a critically acclaimed and commercially successful film, which tells the story of a group of immortal mercenaries who have been fighting for centuries. The movie’s sequel promises to explore the aftermath of the events of the first film and delve deeper into the characters’ backstories.

While the exact release date for “The Old Guard 2” is still unknown, fans can rest assured that the film is still on track to premiere soon. With its talented cast, including Theron, Kiki Layne, and Matthias Schoenaerts, and its unique blend of action and drama, “The Old Guard 2” is sure to be a thrilling addition to the Netflix lineup.

In conclusion, while the post-production process for “The Old Guard 2” may have encountered some setbacks, Charlize Theron’s enthusiasm for the project remains unwavering. Fans can look forward to the sequel’s release soon, which promises to bring excitement and drama to the big screen.
