California Stimulus Checks Have All Been Sent. Here’s What to Do if You Didn’t Get Yours

The state of California has successfully distributed all of its stimulus checks to residents as part of its relief efforts due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal was to help millions of Californians who were adversely impacted by the health crisis, but there are cases where people may have not received their funds. If you’re one of those individuals and haven’t received your stimulus payment, don’t worry – here’s what you can do.

1. Verify Your Eligibility: First and foremost, double-check whether you’re eligible for the California stimulus check. The payments were primarily aimed at low-income households and individuals who filed taxes with an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN). If you’re not eligible, that is likely the reason you didn’t receive a payment.

2. Check Payment Status: Use the California Franchise Tax Board’s (FTB) online tool to check the status of your payment. You may find that your payment has been delayed or is still being processed. If you are unable to access your information online, contact the FTB at 1-800-852-5711 for further assistance.

3. Update Your Address: If you’ve recently moved or had an address change, it’s possible that your check was sent to an outdated address. Make sure your address is up-to-date with the FTB by logging into their website or calling their customer service number mentioned above.

4. Report Missing Payments: In case your stimulus check status indicates that it was already sent but you haven’t received it, don’t panic. Contact the FTB immediately to report this situation and request guidance on how to proceed.

5. Check with Your Bank: If you were expecting a direct deposit but never saw a payment in your bank account, contact your financial institution to ensure there hasn’t been any issue with receiving funds from the state.

6. Beware of Scams: Unfortunately, during times like these, scammers are on the prowl to take advantage of people. Be vigilant and cautious with any unsolicited calls, emails, or text messages regarding your stimulus check. Do not share your personal information such as your Social Security number or bank account details with anyone you do not trust.

7. Be Patient: While this is already a stressful time, remember that processing times can vary, and some payments may take longer than expected to arrive. Stay in contact with the FTB to monitor your payment’s progress.

In conclusion, if you’re eligible for the California stimulus check but haven’t received yours, follow the steps outlined above to ensure you don’t miss out. By staying informed and proactive, you’ll be in a better position to resolve any issues that might have arisen with your payment.
