Brother HL-3170CDW Review: A Cheap and Charming Color Laser Printer

The Brother HL-3170CDW printer is an intriguing choice for small businesses or households in need of a reliable, high-quality printing solution. From its economical cost to its high-end features, the unit is a color laser printer that effectively bridges the gap between affordability and performance.

Firstly, the printer’s design itself is compact and fairly minimalistic, which ensures it will fit snugly into just about any workspace. Though it weighs around 39 pounds, it is equipped with wireless connectivity that allows it to be placed anywhere within reach of your network.

One of the first things to note about this printer is its exceptional print speed. It beats out many printers in its price range with a speed of up to 23 pages per minute for both color and black and white documents. This feature could significantly enhance productivity, especially for businesses with high printing needs.

The Brother HL-3170CDW impresses further with its print quality. With a maximum resolution of 600 x 2400 dpi, you can expect crisp and vibrant output quality – from colorful brochures to detailed graphics and text documents.

Amazingly, this printer also supports automatic duplex printing (printing on both sides of the paper), which not only contributes to reducing paper waste but also enhances efficiency. This feature combined with an adjustable 250-sheet capacity paper tray reduces frequent paper refills, drastically saving on time.

Cost-effectiveness is another noteworthy advantage of this Brother model. The printer operates with high-efficiency toner cartridges designed for extended use. Not only does this lower the cost per page but also decreases the frequency of cartridge replacement.

Brother’s HL-3170CDW furthermore expands its accessibility through mobile device compatibility. With apps like AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, and Brother iPrint&Scan, users can quickly print right from their smartphones or tablets.

However, as usual with fast printers operating at high resolutions, an incremental increase in operational heat is expected. The unit may get hot when used continuously over longer durations prompting short cool-down breaks.
The Brother HL-3170CDW seemingly has all aspects covered – high print speed, excellent quality prints, convenient features such as duplex printing and mobile compatibility along with affordability make it an excellent choice for small businesses or home offices.

In conclusion, the HL-3170CDW delivers efficient performance at a great value. While it won’t outshine more expensive models in terms of bells and whistles, if you’re seeking a reliable workhorse that offers top-notch prints without breaking the bank, then the Brother HL-3170CDW fits the bill perfectly.
