A classic seafood dish with a zesty twist, broiled flounder with butter and lemon is a flavorsome recipe that elevates the delicate taste of flounder to mouth-watering new heights. Combining the succulent notes of butter, the tangy hints of lemon, and aromatic herbs, this dish is perfect for any occasion. Whether you’re trying something new or looking to transport your taste buds to a coastal paradise, this broiled flounder recipe will undoubtedly become one of your go-to culinary delights.

Ingredients:

– 4 flounder fillets (approximately 6 oz each)

– Salt and pepper, to taste

– 4 tablespoons unsalted butter

– 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

– Zest of 1 lemon

– 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, minced

– 1 teaspoon garlic powder

– Optional: 1 tablespoon capers

Instructions:

1. Begin by preheating your oven’s broiler on high. Adjust the oven rack to position it approximately 4 inches from the heating element.

2. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup. Lightly grease the lined baking sheet with cooking spray or a small amount of oil.

3. Rinse each flounder fillet under cold water and pat dry with paper towels. Lay the fillets on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly apart.

4. Season both sides of the flounder fillets with salt and pepper to taste.

5. In a small saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium-low heat. Once melted, remove from heat and add in the freshly squeezed lemon juice, lemon zest, minced parsley, and garlic powder. Stir until well combined.

6. Carefully spoon or brush the butter mixture onto each flounder fillet, ensuring that they are generously covered.

7. Place the baking sheet into the preheated oven and broil for approximately 6-8 minutes or until the flounder fillets are opaque and start to flake easily with a fork.

8. If desired, garnish the broiled flounder with a sprinkle of capers for added texture and flavor.

9. Remove from the oven, let rest for 1-2 minutes, and serve the broiled flounder with your favorite side dishes, such as steamed vegetables, rice, or salad.

With its tender, flaky texture and an unforgettable combination of zesty citrus and velvety butter, this broiled flounder recipe is a mouthwatering tribute to the taste of the sea. Perfect for dinner parties or intimate gatherings, this dish offers both simplicity and sophistication in each bite. Give it a try and be prepared to fall in love with this sumptuous taste of place.
