Bravely Default II is the highly-anticipated sequel to the critically-acclaimed Bravely Default that released on the Nintendo 3DS in 2014. Developed by Claytechworks and published by Square Enix, Bravely Default II sets sail on an epic RPG adventure exclusively for the Nintendo Switch, transporting players to a magical world filled with wonder, exciting battles, and unforgettable characters.

Story and Setting:

In a world made up of five distinct kingdoms, Bravely Default II puts you in control of four new heroes as they set out on a grand quest to gather the four Elemental Crystals. Along their journey, our heroes discover new places, intriguing stories, and face complex moral dilemmas that challenge their beliefs. With deep narrative twists and engaging storytelling, the game keeps players hooked till the very end.

Gameplay Mechanics:

Bravely Default II refines the classic JRPG mechanics seen in its predecessor while introducing new elements to keep the gameplay fresh. Borrowing from the iconic Brave and Default system, players can balance offensive strategies using Brave Points (BP) and take calculated risks for powerful payoffs. Furthermore, jobs are a major component of character growth, with each player having access to over 20 different jobs to choose from and master.

Graphics and Audio:

The artistic direction in Bravely Default II is nothing short of enchanting. Character designs by Naoki Ikushima are reminiscent of classic JRPGs while the vibrant hand-painted 2D backdrops make exploring each location a visual treat. The music composed by Revo returns from the first game, elevating numerous scenes and creating a fully immersive audio experience befitting an epic RPG adventure.

Difficulty and Replayability:

One of Bravely Default II’s strengths is its adjustable difficulty settings catering to players both new to the series or seasoned JRPG veterans. No matter your skill level, you’re likely to find a challenge that suits your gameplay preferences. The game boasts numerous side quests, optional bosses, and hidden secrets which encourage exploration and solidify its replayability.

Conclusion:

Bravely Default II is an exceptional addition to the Nintendo Switch library of games. The captivating narrative, refined gameplay mechanics, and stellar art design make it a must-play for any fans of the RPG genre. Bravely Default II proves that there’s plenty of life left in the classic turn-based JRPG formula, delivering an epic adventure that will draw players in and refuse to let go until the final credits roll.
