2.Carol Foster Lambert in “Step by Step”

In this ABC sitcom that later moved to CBS, Somers played Carol Foster Lambert, the mother of a blended family trying to keep it all together. The chemistry with co-star Patrick Duffy was palpable and showcased her ability to combine warmth and humor effortlessly.

3.Camille Gibbons in “She’s the Sheriff”

Taking on a more authoritative role, Somers starred as Camille Gibbons in the comedy “She’s the Sheriff.” After her husband’s death, her character takes over as sheriff of Lake Tahoe’s Nevada county – a role that allowed Somers to explore new comedic territory.
