Introduction:

Sangria, the perfect party drink, has been delighting taste buds since it first originated in Spain. This refreshing concoction combines red wine, fresh fruit, and simple syrup for a delectable and easy-to-make beverage that adds a touch of El Espíritu de España to any occasion. In this article, we will share the best red sangria recipe that will leave your guests asking for more.

Ingredients:

– 1 bottle (750 ml) of red wine (choose a fruity and slightly sweet wine like Rioja or Cabernet Sauvignon)

– 1/4 cup brandy

– 1/4 cup triple sec or orange liqueur

– 1/2 cup fresh orange juice

– 1/4 cup simple syrup (You can make it by dissolving equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan over low heat, letting it cool)

– 2 cups assorted fresh fruit (such as oranges, lemons, limes, apples, and berries), sliced or chopped

– 1/2 liter of club soda or sparkling water

Instructions:

1. In a large pitcher, combine the red wine, brandy, triple sec (or orange liqueur), fresh orange juice, and simple syrup. Stir well to mix everything together.

2. Add your fruit selection to the pitcher. You can use any combination you like; traditional Spanish sangria often includes citrus fruits like oranges and lemons. Apples and berries also make excellent additions. To really bring out the flavors of the fruit, you can let them macerate in the fridge for at least an hour before serving.

3. When you’re ready to serve your sangria, fill individual glasses with ice, then add a scoop of the wine-soaked fruit.

4. Pour the red sangria mixture over the ice and fruit, filling each glass about 3/4 full.

5. Top off your sangria with a splash of club soda or sparkling water to give your drink a slightly fizzy finish.

6. Gently stir your sangria before taking a sip, and savor the delightful combination of fruity flavors and wine.

Conclusion:

Sangria is an incredibly versatile beverage that can be customized as desired, so feel free to experiment with various fruits, wines, or spirits. Whether you’re hosting a summer soiree or simply enjoying a night in with friends, this best sangria recipe will add a festive touch to any gathering. Cheers!
