Fall is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect time to indulge in warm, comforting, and delicious pumpkin-based treats. One such delectable dessert is the Pumpkin Crisp – a mouthwatering combination of sweet and spiced pumpkin filling topped with a crunchy, golden crumb topping. In this article, we will share the steps for making the best Pumpkin Crisp recipe that will surely delight your taste buds and leave your family asking for seconds.

Ingredients:

– 1 (15 oz) can of pumpkin puree

– 1 (12 oz) can of evaporated milk

– 3/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

– 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

– 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger

– 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

– 2 eggs

For the topping:

– 1 box yellow cake mix

– 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)

– 1/2 cup melted butter

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 13×9-inch baking dish and set aside.

2. In a large bowl, combine the pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, ground nutmeg, ground ginger, ground cloves, and eggs. Whisk until evenly blended and smooth.

3. Pour the pumpkin mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.

4. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the top of the pumpkin filling.

5. If using nuts, scatter them across the top of the cake mix layer.

6. Drizzle the melted butter evenly over the cake mix layer to help create that signature crisp topping.

7. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 50-60 minutes, or until the pumpkin filling is set and the topping is golden brown and crunchy.

8. Remove from the oven and allow to cool for about 15 minutes before serving. To enhance the flavor of the Pumpkin Crisp, consider serving it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.

As you can see, making this delightful Pumpkin Crisp recipe is simple and straightforward, ensuring that even novice bakers can enjoy this warming fall dessert. By taking only an hour to prepare from start to finish, it allows you to easily create a crowd-pleasing treat that will be the star of your next autumn gathering.
