Best pizza in Greater Cleveland: Celebrate National Pizza week with some local favorites

Spread the love

As National Pizza Week approaches, it’s the perfect time to celebrate by indulging in one of America’s favorite foods – pizza. In Greater Cleveland, locals and visitors alike are spoiled for choice with a myriad of pizzerias serving up slices to suit every palate. From traditional Italian-style thin crust to hearty deep-dish American variations, Greater Cleveland offers a slice of pizza perfection for everyone.

One of the must-visit spots in the area is Angelo’s Pizza in Lakewood. Their award-winning pizzas are well-known for their fresh toppings and an incredible variety of options. Whether you prefer a classic Margherita or something more adventurous like a taco pizza, Angelo’s will not disappoint.

Heading over to Ohio City, you will find Citizen Pie, known for its Neapolitan-style pizzas made in wood-fired ovens. Here, authenticity meets quality with pies that feature charred crusts and flavorful San Marzano tomato sauce. The atmosphere is cozy, the service friendly, and the pizza memorable – a trifecta that’s hard to beat.

Let’s not forget about Mama Santa’s in Cleveland’s historic Little Italy neighborhood. This beloved institution has been serving mouth-watering Sicilian and New York-style pizzas since 1961. The casual setting and generous slices make it an ideal spot for a family outing or a quick bite with friends.

In East Cleveland, Scott’s Fire & Ice brings together the best of both worlds: wood-fired pizza and incredible ice cream desserts. With an eclectic menu that creatively tops pizzas with gourmet ingredients like goat cheese, truffle oil, and prosciutto, there is always something new to try here.

For those who love deep-dish, Chicago’s Home Run Inn Pizza has brought their legendary buttery crust and chunky tomato sauce to Middleburg Heights. It’s as close as you’ll get to the Windy City without actually leaving Ohio.

In Beachwood, Chagrin River Pizza Co. captures local charm with their hand-tossed pizzas that emphasize high-quality ingredients and robust flavors. Their stone-baked pies are a hit among those who appreciate a crispy crust.

Finally, if you’re looking for something unique, Saucy Brew Works in Hingetown invites you to pair your pizza with craft beer. Their inventive topping combinations are perfect for those seeking an unconventional pizza experience alongside a frothy pint.

No matter what style of pizza tantalizes your taste buds, Greater Cleveland’s pizzerias have something special to offer during National Pizza Week. So why not savor this time by trying out one – or all – of these local favorites? Your taste buds will thank you!
