Introduction:

Are you tired of the same old boiled or baked potatoes? Try this simple and delectable pan-fried potatoes recipe for a delightful change in your side dish game. This article will guide you through the steps to make the crispiest and most satisfying pan-fried potatoes, perfect for any meal of the day.

Ingredients:

– 4 medium-sized Russet or Yukon Gold potatoes

– 3 tablespoons vegetable oil

– Salt and pepper, to taste

– Optional add-ins: onion, garlic, rosemary, thyme, or paprika

Instructions:

1. Prepare the potatoes: Scrub the potatoes thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt. You can choose to peel them or leave the skin on based on your preference. Then slice the potatoes into even-sized cubes or wedges.

2. Parboil the potatoes: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add in the potato slices and let them cook for 5-7 minutes so they are partially cooked but still firm. Drain and set aside for about 5 minutes in order to allow them to dry.

3. Prepare the pan: Heat a large skillet with enough vegetable oil to coat the bottom over medium-high heat. You can use vegetable oil, butter, or a combination of both as per your choice.

4. Add seasonings: At this point, you can add any additional seasonings such as garlic, onion, or herbs like rosemary and thyme for extra flavor.

5. Fry the potatoes: Once the pan is heated and your optional add-ins have been sautéed, carefully add in your potatoes, making sure they’re placed in a single layer and not overcrowded in order to achieve an even browning.

6. Brown each side: Let each side of the potatoes cook for about 4-5 minutes before flipping them over with a spatula. Continue cooking and flipping the potatoes until they have a crispy, golden-brown crust.

7. Season with salt and pepper: Once the potatoes are crisp and browned, remove them from the pan with a slotted spoon onto a plate lined with a paper towel to absorb any excess oil. Season immediately with salt and pepper to taste.

8. Serve hot: These pan-fried potatoes are best enjoyed straight from the pan as a side dish or even as a stand-alone breakfast treat. They pair well with your favorite sour cream or aioli dip or can be topped with cheese, bacon bits, or green onions.

Conclusion:

This pan-fried potatoes recipe is not only easy but also yields the crispiest and most flavorful bites of potato goodness. By using just a few simple ingredients and following these straightforward steps, you’ll impress your family and guests with this delicious dish that will have them asking for more!
