Introduction

French toast is a classic and delicious breakfast dish, loved by people all around the world. If you are looking for the ultimate recipe to make the perfect French toast, you have come to the right place. In this article, we will walk through the easy steps to make scrumptious French toast that everyone will adore.

Ingredients

– 8 slices of thick-cut bread (such as brioche or challah)

– 4 large eggs

– 1 cup whole milk

– 1/4 cup granulated sugar

– 1/4 tsp salt

– 1 tbsp vanilla extract

– 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

– Butter or non-stick cooking spray for frying

– Optional toppings: maple syrup, powdered sugar, fresh berries, whipped cream, or any toppings of your choice

Instructions

1. Prepare the bread: Using day-old bread is ideal because it helps absorb the egg mixture better and won’t fall apart during cooking. If you do not have day-old bread available, toast it in the oven at 300°F (150°C) for about five minutes on each side to dry it out slightly.

2. Create the egg mixture: In a large bowl or shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, granulated sugar, salt, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until everything is well combined.

3. Heat your frying pan or griddle: Place your frying pan over medium heat or preheat your griddle to approximately 350°F (175°C). Add a generous amount of butter or non-stick cooking spray to ensure that your French toast won’t stick to the pan.

4. Soak the bread slices: Dip each slice of bread in the egg mixture for about 20 seconds per side to get it fully coated. Be sure not to let it soak too long; otherwise, it will end up mushy.

5. Cook the French toast: Gently place the soaked bread slices onto the hot frying pan or griddle, being careful not to overcrowd them. Cook for approximately 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy on the outside. Add more butter or cooking spray as needed between batches.

6. Serve and enjoy: Once your French toast is cooked, you can serve it immediately with your favorite toppings such as warm maple syrup, a dusting of powdered sugar, fresh berries, or a dollop of whipped cream. Enjoy your delicious and perfectly prepared homemade French toast!

Conclusion

There you have it – a simple yet mouth-watering French toast recipe that is guaranteed to impress your friends and family. With this easy recipe in hand, you can prepare delightful breakfasts on special occasions, holidays, or whenever you crave the scrumptious goodness of a perfect French toast. Happy cooking!
