As one of the most intriguing characters in Baldur’s Gate 3, Shadowheart stands out with her secret past and versatile skill set. She is a half-elf cleric who follows the goddess Shar, and players often find themselves wondering how to maximize her potential in their party. Here is an optimal build for Shadowheart that balances her support capabilities and combat prowess.

Class: Cleric

Subclass: Trickery Domain

Abilities:

– Strength: 14

– Dexterity: 10

– Constitution: 13

– Intelligence: 10

– Wisdom: 16 (Primary ability for Cleric spells and Channel Divinity)

– Charisma: 14

Skills:

Focus on Insight, Religion, and Persuasion to take advantage of Shadowheart’s wisdom and charisma.

Cantrips:

– Guidance: To give an ally a bonus on checks.

– Thaumaturgy: Useful for various non-combat situations.

Spells:

1.Healing Word – Quick heals during combat situations.

2.Shield of Faith – To boost an ally’s defense.

3.Mirror Image – Creates duplicates of her to confuse enemies.

4.Silence – Useful to control spellcasters in battle.

5.Pass Without Trace – Greatly aids in stealth for the entire party.

Equipment:

– Mace (early game), later replaced by a more powerful weapon suited to a cleric.

– Shield for added armor class.

– Medium Armor like scale mail or chain shirt for a good balance between protection and flexibility.

Feats:

When possible select feats that enhance Shadowheart’s role as a supportive controller.

1.War Caster – To help maintain concentration on spells, extremely useful for a cleric.

2.Resilient (Constitution) – Boosts concentration checks even further.

Role in Party:

Shadowheart should be used as a support character that can control the battlefield with her Trickery spells while providing healing and defensive buffs to allies.

Tactical Tips:

– Use Shadowheart’s Channel Divinity options like Invoke Duplicity to create tactical advantages through illusions.

– Stay behind frontline fighters, casting spells at pivotal moments to sway the course of battle.

– Remember to use Healing Word at range to quickly bring up fallen allies since it only requires a bonus action.

Conclusion:

The Best Shadowheart build focuses on maximizing her role as a supporter in the team, excelling at controlling encounters with spells while keeping her allies strengthened and healed. Her strength lies in flexibility, so adapting her playstyle depending on the battle is key. With these guidelines, Shadowheart will no doubt become an essential asset to any Baldur’s Gate 3 party, ready to reveal the mysteries of her backstory while effectively ensuring the party’s success on their journey.
