Apple iPhone 7 Review: The Last-Gen iPhone Still Holds Its Own

As technology advances at a rapid pace, consumers are constantly comparing the latest and greatest smartphones. However, the Apple iPhone 7, a last-generation device, still holds its own against newer models. Released in September 2016, the iPhone 7 offers users reliable performance and valuable features that remain relevant today.

Design and Build

One of the major reasons the iPhone 7 continues to appeal is its sleek design. With its familiar aluminum body and 4.7-inch Retina HD display, it has a comfortable size in hand. The introduction of water and dust resistance with an IP67 rating is also a bonus for accidental spills or exposure to moisture.

Performance

Despite being an older model, the Apple iPhone 7’s performance stands strong. Powered by Apple’s A10 Fusion chip, this smartphone is more than capable of handling everyday multitasking as well as graphics-intensive games. Although it may not be as fast as the latest iPhones, it still delivers satisfactory speed for most users.

Camera

The iPhone 7 sports a 12MP rear camera with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and an f/1.8 aperture for better low-light images. Meanwhile, the front-facing camera provides clear selfies with a 7MP sensor. While newer models boast more advanced cameras nowadays, the iPhone 7’s camera capabilities remain competitive for casual photography needs.

Battery Life

Equipped with a smaller battery compared to some current options on the market, the iPhone 7 still manages to provide a full day’s use under typical conditions, in part due to its energy-efficient A10 Fusion chip.

Software and User Experience

The fact that Apple has ensured its older models receive software updates is one reason why the iPhone 7 still feels fresh in terms of user experience. Users can enjoy features like App Library and Picture-in-Picture that come with iOS 14, providing a more contemporary experience not often found in older smartphones.

Affordability

For budget-conscious consumers, the iPhone 7’s lower cost is an attractive proposition. As a
last-gen model, its price point has significantly decreased, making it a perfect option for those seeking a capable iPhone without breaking the bank.

Conclusion

The Apple iPhone 7 has proven that age doesn’t always matter when it comes to performance and usability. With its solid camera capabilities, sleek design, ongoing software support from Apple, and affordability, the iPhone 7 still holds its own and remains a viable choice for those in search of a reliable smartphone.
