Anniston–Oxford, AL Metro Area: Anniston Army Depot Secures Major Defense Contract

The Anniston Army Depot has been awarded a $1.2 billion contract to refurbish and upgrade the U.S. Army’s fleet of Bradley Fighting Vehicles. This five-year agreement is expected to bring hundreds of new jobs to the area and secure the depot’s position as a critical component of national defense infrastructure.
The contract involves modernizing over 600 Bradley vehicles with state-of-the-art electronics, improved armor, and enhanced mobility systems. This upgrade will ensure that the U.S. Army maintains its technological edge on the battlefield.
