As a veteran cobbler with years of experience in caring for leather goods, I have come to rely on several key weatherproofing sprays to protect boots, jackets, and other items from the elements. Here are the best sprays that I recommend to my clients:

1. Nikwax Fabric and Leather Proof: This spray is perfect for mixed-material items that have both fabric and leather parts. It’s easy to apply, does not alter the color or texture of the leather, and repels water effectively.

2. Apple Brand Garde Rain & Stain Water Repellent: Ideal for delicate leathers, this spray is excellent at repelling water and stains without compromising the breathability of the material.

3. Bickmore Gard-More Water & Stain Repellent: Bickmore’s spray provides good protection for everyday use, preserving the lifespan of various leather goods by preventing water, dirt, and salt stains.

4. Kiwi Boot Protector: Specifically designed for heavier boots and shoes, Kiwi’s Boot Protector offers strong protection against rain, snow, mud, and salt, making it essential for harsh weather conditions.

5. Collonil Carbon Pro Waterproofing Spray: Collonil’s high-performance spray is a top-of-the-line choice that offers long-lasting protection with an innovative carbon fiber structure that shields against moisture and dirt.

When using any leather care product, always test it on a small inconspicuous area first to ensure it doesn’t negatively affect the material. Regular maintenance with these weatherproofing sprays will help extend the life of your leather goods and keep them looking sharp regardless of the weather.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech.
