The Acer Chromebox Enterprise CXI4 is a compact yet powerful device designed for businesses that are looking for an efficient and cost-effective solution to handle their computing needs. In this review, we will delve into the key features, performance metrics, and overall experience that the Acer Chromebox Enterprise CXI4 provides to help you make an informed decision on whether it is the right choice for your organization.

Design & Build:

The Acer Chromebox Enterprise CXI4 sports a minimalistic design with a sleek black finish. The device measures only 5.9 x 5.9 x 1.6 inches, making it an incredibly compact option that can be easily mounted behind monitors or tucked away discretely. Despite its small profile, the device has all the necessary ports and connections, including USB Type-C, USB 3.2 Gen 1, HDMI, Ethernet, and a microSD card slot.

Performance & Hardware:

Under the hood, the Acer Chromebox Enterprise CXI4 comes with four options of Intel processors: Intel Celeron 5205U, Intel Core i3-10110U, Intel Core i5-10210U, or Intel Core i7-10710U. This wide range of processors allows you to tailor the device to the specific needs of your organization without breaking the bank. The device also features DDR4 memory (up to 16 GB) and SSD storage (up to 128 GB).

One of the most distinct features of this Chromebox is its integration with the Google Workspace ecosystem. Users can easily access tools like Gmail, Google Drive, Google Meet, and more directly from their home screen without requiring additional software installations.

Software & Security:

The Acer Chromebox Enterprise CXI4 runs on Google’s Chrome OS with an Enterprise edition included which offers additional administrative features and security tools, making it a solid choice for business environments. IT administrators can easily manage and monitor the devices remotely, enforce security policies, and customize the user experience through the Google Admin Console.

Furthermore, the device receives frequent updates directly from Google, ensuring that it stays up-to-date with the latest security patches. This Chromebox also supports TPM 2.0 (Trusted Platform Module) technology, which adds an extra layer of protection for encrypting data and securing user credentials.

Connectivity & Expansion:

The Acer Chromebox Enterprise CXI4 is no slouch when it comes to connectivity options. The device features a built-in Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) and Gigabit Ethernet for high-speed internet access and file transfers. In addition to this, it also comes with Bluetooth 5.0 for easy pairing with peripherals like keyboards, mice, and headsets.

Moreover, the built-in USB Type-C port supports DisplayPort functionality to enable connecting multiple monitors for enhanced productivity.

Conclusion:

The Acer Chromebox Enterprise CXI4 is an excellent choice for businesses looking for a compact yet powerful computing solution that integrates seamlessly with their existing Google Workspace ecosystem. With its range of processor options paired with DDR4 memory and SSD storage, along with reliable security features and seamless management capabilities offered by Chrome OS Enterprise edition, the CXI4 represents a compelling option for organizations keen to invest in a device that enhances productivity while maintaining affordability.
