If you are a frequent user of Gmail’s offline feature, you may notice that your computer stores a cache of your emails and attachments. While this cache can be useful when you are working without an internet connection, it can also take up valuable storage space on your device. In this article, we will provide a step-by-step guide to deleting the offline Gmail cache data on your computer.

Step 1:

Open the Chrome browser on your computer.

Step 2:

Click on the three vertical dots in the top-right corner of the browser window.

Step 3:

Select “Settings” from the dropdown menu.

Step 4:

Scroll down to find the “Privacy and security” section and click on “Clear browsing data.”

Step 5:

At the top of the “Clear browsing data” popup, select the time range for which you want to clear the cache. You can choose between “Last hour,” “Last 24 hours,” “Last 7 days,” “Last 4 weeks,” and “All time.”

Step 6:

Click on the checkbox next to “Cached images and files.”

Step 7:

Uncheck any other items in the “Clear browsing data” popup that you do not want to delete.

Step 8:

Click on the “Clear data” button to delete your offline Gmail cache data.

Step 9:

Refresh your Gmail Offline page to see the changes.

By following these nine simple steps, you can free up valuable storage space on your computer by deleting the offline Gmail cache data. Keep in mind, however, that doing so will remove the cache of your emails and attachments, meaning you will need to load them up again the next time you are working without an internet connection. Nonetheless, it’s a helpful addition to ensure you’re freeing up space on your device.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
