As technology advances, video games are becoming more and more complex. With that complexity, unfortunately, comes a higher likelihood of errors and glitches. One common issue gamers face is corrupt or missing game files. Fortunately, most game launchers provide a way to repair these files quickly and easily. In this article, we will go over the steps to repair game files on different launchers.

Steam

Steam is one of the most popular video game launchers. If you encounter an error like “corrupt game files” or “missing executable,” follow these steps to repair the game files:

1. Open Steam and navigate to the game that needs repairing.

2. Right-click on the game and select Properties.

3. In the Properties window, click on the Local Files tab.

4. Click on the Verify Integrity of Game Files button.

5. Wait for the verification process to complete.

6. If any corrupted files are found, Steam will redownload and replace them.

Epic Games Launcher

Epic Games Launcher is another popular launcher for video games. Follow the steps below to repair corrupted or missing game files on this launcher:

1. Open the Epic Games Launcher and navigate to the game that needs repairing.

2. Click on the three dots next to the game and select Verify from the drop-down menu.

3. Wait for the verification process to complete.

4. If any corrupted files are found, Epic Games Launcher will redownload and replace them.

Origin

Origin is a game launcher developed by Electronic Arts, mainly for PC games. If you encounter an error message while launching a game through Origin, use the following steps to repair the game files:

1. Open Origin and navigate to the game that needs repairing.

2. Right-click on the game and select “Repair Game.”

3. Wait for the repair process to complete.

4. If any corrupted files are found, Origin will redownload and replace them.

Uplay

Uplay is a game launcher developed by Ubisoft. If you experience any missing or corrupted game files, use the following steps to repair them:

1. Open Uplay and navigate to the game that needs repairing.

2. Click on the cogwheel icon next to the game and select “Validate Files.”

3. Wait for the validation process to complete.

4. If any corrupted files are found, Uplay will redownload and replace them.
