How to Find the Exact Date You Created Your Facebook Account

Facebook is a social media platform that has become ubiquitous over the past decade. For most of us, it is an integral part of our daily lives. From connecting with friends and family to sharing important moments, we rely on Facebook to keep in touch.

However, have you ever wondered when exactly you created your Facebook account?

Facebook does not make it easy to find the exact date when you joined the platform. But fear not, here are a few ways you can find out when you created your Facebook account.

Method 1: Check your email

One of the easiest ways to find out the date you created your Facebook account is to check your email. When you sign up for Facebook, the platform sends you a welcome email. Just search your inbox for the email from Facebook and scroll to the bottom. You will find the date and time when you created your account.

Method 2: Check your Facebook profile

Another straightforward method is to check your Facebook profile. Although Facebook does not explicitly display the date you joined the platform, it does show the date when you started adding friends.

To find out when you added your first friend, click on your profile picture or name to access your Facebook profile. Scroll down to the section labeled “Friends” and click on “See All Friends.” On the next page, click on “Recently added” under the “Sort By” dropdown menu. You will see a list of your friends and the date you added them.

The date you added your first friend is likely close to the date when you created your Facebook account.

Method 3: Use the Wayback Machine

The Wayback Machine is a digital archive that stores snapshots of websites over time. It is a great tool to track changes to a website, including Facebook.

To use the Wayback Machine, go to the website https://archive.org/web/ and enter “facebook.com” in the search bar. Choose a date when you think you might have created your account and click on a snapshot. If the snapshot includes your Facebook page, you should be able to see the date when it was created.

Method 4: Ask Facebook Support

If all else fails, you can always ask Facebook support for help. Go to the Facebook Help Center and click on “Contact Us.” Choose the topic “Login & Password” and describe your issue. Facebook’s support team should be able to provide you with the date when you created your account.

About Us

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject. From time to time, I will invite other voices to weigh in on important issues in EdTech. We hope to provide a well-rounded, multi-faceted look at the past, present, the future of EdTech in the US and internationally.

We started this journey back in June 2016, and we plan to continue it for many more years to come. I hope that you will join us in this discussion of the past, present and future of EdTech and lend your own insight to the issues that are discussed.
