If you’re someone who frequently works with PDF files on your iPhone or iPad, you may have had the need to merge several PDF documents into one. Whether it’s for work or personal use, merging PDFs allows you to keep all your important documents in one place, making it easier to manage and access them.

In this article, we’ll guide you through the steps to merge PDFs on your iPhone or iPad using built-in tools available in iOS.

Step 1: Open Files app

To begin, open the Files app on your iPhone or iPad. This app is pre-installed on all iOS devices and is designed for managing files stored in iCloud Drive, on-device storage, and other cloud services such as Dropbox or Google Drive.

Step 2: Locate and select PDF files

Once you have the Files app open, locate the PDF files that you want to merge. To select multiple files, tap and hold on the first file, and then tap on the other files to select them. You can also tap the ‘Select’ button in the upper-right corner of the screen to choose files.

Step 3: Choose ‘Create PDF’

After selecting the PDF files, tap on the three-dot icon in the upper-right corner of the screen. This will open a new menu where you’ll find the ‘Create PDF’ option. Tap on it to create a new PDF document.

Step 4: Rearrange pages (optional)

If you need to rearrange pages within the new PDF document, tap on the thumbnail preview of the document to open it. You can then tap and hold on a page to drag it to a new location.

Step 5: Save the merged PDF

Once you’ve completed the merging process, tap on the share button in the upper-right corner of the screen to save the new PDF document. You can then choose where to save it, and you can also rename the file if you prefer.

And that’s it! With just a few simple steps, you can merge PDFs on your iPhone or iPad. This is a handy trick to know if you need to combine multiple documents into one file for easy access and organization.

Since technology is not going anywhere and does more good than harm, adapting is the best course of action. That is where The Tech Edvocate comes in. We plan to cover the PreK-12 and Higher Education EdTech sectors and provide our readers with the latest news and opinion on the subject.
