Windows 11 comes with a plethora of customization options, including widgets. These widgets provide users with quick access to information such as weather updates, news, and sports scores right from their desktop. However, some users may find them distracting or unnecessary, and in such cases, disabling widgets is a good option. Here is a step-by-step guide on how to disable widgets in Windows 11.

Step 1: Open Settings

To disable widgets in Windows 11, open the Settings app. You can either search for “Settings” in the Start menu or press the “Windows key + I” shortcut.

Step 2: Go to Personalization

In Settings, click on “Personalization” from the left sidebar.

Step 3: Select Widgets

Under Personalization, select “Widgets” from the menu on the left.

Step 4: Turn off Widgets

On the right, slide the “Widgets” toggle switch to the “Off” position.

Step 5: Close Settings

Once you have disabled Widgets, you can simply close the Settings app.

Alternative Method: Disable Widget Panel

In addition to disabling Widgets altogether, users can also disable the Widget Panel, which appears when the Widgets icon is clicked. Here’s how:

Step 1: Right-click on the Taskbar

Right-click on the Taskbar at the bottom of the screen and select “Taskbar settings” from the menu.

Step 2: Turn off Widget Panel

Under Taskbar settings, scroll down and look for the “Widgets” section. Toggle off the “Show Widgets button” option.

Step 3: Close Taskbar Settings

Once you have disabled the Widget Panel, you can close the Taskbar Settings window.
