Roku is a popular streaming device that lets you access a wide range of entertainment options, including movies, TV shows, and music. While Roku offers a lot of great content for adults, it’s important to ensure that children are not exposed to inappropriate content. Roku’s parental controls allow you to restrict access to certain channels and content, and set a PIN to prevent unauthorized purchases.

Here’s how to use Roku parental controls:

Setting up a PIN

The first step to using Roku parental controls is to set up a PIN. This PIN will be required for any transactions or changes to the parental control settings.

  1. On your Roku device, go to Settings.
  2. Select Parental Controls.
  3. Choose Set PIN.
  4. Enter a four-digit PIN.
  5. Confirm the PIN.

Setting up Content Restrictions

Once you have set up a PIN, you can set up content restrictions to ensure that your children only have access to age-appropriate content.

  1. Go to Settings and select Parental Controls.
  2. Choose Content Restrictions.
  3. Select the maximum content rating you want your children to have access to.
  4. You can also restrict access to specific channels by selecting the channel and choosing Block.

Setting up Purchasing Restrictions

Roku also allows you to set up purchasing restrictions to prevent unauthorized purchases.

  1. Go to Settings and select Parental Controls.
  2. Choose Purchase Pin.
  3. Enter your PIN.
  4. Choose Require Pin to Add a Channel or Make a Purchase.
  5. You can also restrict purchases completely by selecting Block Purchases.

Setting up Time Limits

Roku also allows you to set up time limits to restrict the amount of time your children can spend watching TV.

  1. Go to Settings and select Parental Controls.
  2. Choose Time Limits.
  3. Select the maximum amount of time you want your children to be able to watch TV each day.
  4. You can also set up a bedtime where the device will automatically turn off.

Overall, Roku parental controls are a great way to keep your children safe and ensure that they are only accessing age-appropriate content. By setting up a PIN, content restrictions, purchasing restrictions, and time limits, you can have peace of mind knowing that your children are safe while using Roku
