If you’re prone to getting distracted by notifications or want to focus on a particular task without any interruptions, turning on “Do Not Disturb” on your Mac is a great way to go about it. “Do Not Disturb” is a feature that silences all notifications and alerts on your Mac until you choose to turn it off again. It’s easy to turn on and customize, so here’s a quick guide on how to turn on “Do Not Disturb” on your Mac.

Step 1: Click on the Notification Center

The Notification Center is the place where you can see all the notifications you receive on your Mac. Click on the Notification Center icon on the top right corner of your screen, which looks like a bulleted list.

Step 2: Swipe down to access the “Do Not Disturb” option

Swipe down on the Notification Center to reveal the “Do Not Disturb” option. You can also click on the three-line icon to reveal it.

Step 3: Turn on “Do Not Disturb”

Click on the “Do Not Disturb” toggle to turn it on. You’ll notice that the Notification Center icon turns gray, and there’s a crescent moon icon next to it, indicating that “Do Not Disturb” is turned on.

Step 4: Customize “Do Not Disturb” options

If you want to customize “Do Not Disturb” options, click on the crescent moon icon next to the Notification Center. This will bring up a list of options that you can adjust, including:

– Schedule: You can schedule “Do Not Disturb” to turn on and off at specific times. For example, you could set it to turn on every day from 10 pm to 7 am

– Allow calls from: If you want to allow certain calls to come through even when “Do Not Disturb” is on, you can choose contacts or groups from your contacts.

– Repeat calls: If someone calls you twice within three minutes, “Do Not Disturb” will allow the call to go through. This is useful if you’re expecting an important call.

– Notifications: You can choose whether you want notifications to be displayed in the Notification Center, on your lock screen, or not at all when “Do Not Disturb” is on.

– Do Not Disturb while mirroring to TV: This option will allow notifications to be displayed on your TV even when “Do Not Disturb” is turned on.

Step 5: Turn off “Do Not Disturb”

To turn off “Do Not Disturb,” click on the Notification Center icon and click on the “Do Not Disturb” toggle. You can also swipe down on the Notification Center and turn off the toggle.

In conclusion, turning on “Do Not Disturb” is an easy way to minimize distractions and stay focused on your tasks. With these simple steps, you can customize “Do Not Disturb” options to suit your preferences and enjoy uninterrupted work or leisure time on your Mac.
