What Is Facebook Dating? How to Get Started

Facebook Dating is a new feature on the Facebook app that allows users to create dating profiles separate from their normal profiles. The feature was launched in 2019 but has slowly been rolled out to different countries. The goal of Facebook Dating is to help users find meaningful relationships through common interests and mutual friends. In this article, we’ll discuss what Facebook Dating is and how to get started.

What Is Facebook Dating?

Facebook Dating allows users to create a dating profile that is separate from their main profile. The dating profile includes a user’s first name and age, as well as a photo gallery and prompts to add more personal information. Users can also link their Instagram accounts to their dating profiles to showcase more of their interests and personality.

One of the unique features of Facebook Dating is the Secret Crush feature. This feature allows users to select up to nine of their Facebook friends or Instagram followers they are interested in. These people will be notified that someone has a crush on them, and if they also have a secret crush on the user, they can connect and start chatting.

How to Get Started with Facebook Dating?

To get started with Facebook Dating, you need to update the Facebook app to the latest version. If the feature is available in your country, you will see a heart icon at the top of the Facebook app. Tap on the icon to create your dating profile.

When setting up your dating profile, you will be asked to select gender preferences and dating interests. You will also be prompted to add photos and answer some personal questions to help potential matches get to know you better. Once you have filled out your profile, you can start browsing for potential matches.

Facebook Dating offers a variety of features to help you find compatible matches. You can find potential matches through the matchmaker feature and the suggested matches feature. The matchmaker feature suggests friends of friends who are not currently your friends, and the suggested matches feature uses your Facebook activity and interests to suggest potential matches.

Final Thoughts

Facebook Dating is a great option for anyone looking to find meaningful relationships through common interests and mutual friends. Getting started is relatively easy, and there are a variety of features to help you find compatible matches. If you haven’t tried Facebook Dating yet, download the latest version of the Facebook app and give it a try. Who knows, you may just find your soulmate on Facebook!
