Google Chrome is arguably one of the most popular web browsers worldwide. It has a user-friendly interface and offers a plethora of features. One of these features is the ability to create shortcuts for frequently visited websites, making it easier to access them. In this article, we will guide you on how to create Chrome shortcuts on your Windows desktop.

Step 1: Open Google Chrome

The first step is to open Google Chrome on your computer. You can do this by double-clicking the Chrome icon on your desktop, taskbar, or start menu. Alternatively, you can search for “Google Chrome” on your Windows search bar.

Step 2: Visit the website

Next, visit the website that you want to create a shortcut for. Once you have opened the website, click on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of the browser window. This will open a drop-down menu.

Step 3: Select “More tools”

On the drop-down menu, select “More tools” and then click on “Create shortcut.” This will open a pop-up window.

Step 4: Customize the shortcut

In the pop-up window, you can customize your shortcut by entering a name for it. By default, the name of the website will be used. You can change this to anything you want.

You also have the option to select where the shortcut will be saved. By default, it will be saved on your desktop. You can also choose to save it in another location by clicking on the “Change” button.

Once you have finished customizing your shortcut, click on “Create” to create the shortcut.

Step 5: Access the shortcut

Once you have created the shortcut, you can access it by double-clicking on the icon on your desktop. This will open the website in Google Chrome.

Conclusion

Creating Chrome shortcuts on your Windows desktop is a simple process that can help you save time and make accessing frequently visited websites easier. By following the steps outlined in this article, you can create Chrome shortcuts for all your favorite websites with ease. Don’t hesitate to try it out and enjoy the convenience it has to offer.
