Windows 11 is the latest operating system on Microsoft’s block that offers advanced security features and a sleek user interface. However, sometimes, you may need to troubleshoot problems with your PC, and one of the ways to do that is by booting it in Safe Mode. Safe Mode is a diagnostic startup mode that allows you to boot your PC with a minimal set of drivers and services, making it easier to identify and fix problems.

So, if you’re dealing with startup issues or other problems with your PC, here’s how to boot in Safe Mode in Windows 11.

Method 1: Using the System Configuration tool

The easiest way to boot into Safe Mode on Windows 11 is by using the System Configuration tool. Follow these steps to do so:

1. Press Win + R keys on your keyboard to open the Run dialog box.

2. Type “msconfig” in the search field and press Enter.

3. In the System Configuration window, select the “Boot” tab.

4. Under the “Boot options” section, check the “Safe boot” checkbox.

5. Select one of the three Safe mode options – “Minimal,” “Alternate shell,” or “Network.”

6. Click on the “Apply” button and then click on “OK.”

7. You will be prompted to restart your PC. Click on the “Restart” button to reboot your PC in Safe Mode.

Method 2: Using the Shift key

If you’re unable to boot your PC normally, you can use the Shift key to enter the Advanced Startup Options menu and then boot in Safe Mode. Follow these steps to do so:

1. Press and hold the Shift key on your keyboard and click on the “Restart” button on the Windows Start menu.

2. On the “Choose an option” screen, select “Troubleshoot.”

3. Select “Advanced options.”

4. Select “Startup Settings.”

5. Click on the “Restart” button to reboot your PC.

6. On the Startup Settings screen, press 4 or F4 key to boot your PC in Safe Mode.

Method 3: Using the Settings app

If your PC is functioning correctly, you can use the Settings app to boot in Safe Mode. Follow these steps to do so:

1. Click on the “Start” button and select the “Settings” gear icon.

2. Click on “Update & Security.”

3. Select “Recovery” from the left pane.

4. Under the Advanced startup section, click on the “Restart now” button.

5. On the “Choose an option” screen, select “Troubleshoot.”

6. Select “Advanced options.”

7. Select “Startup Settings.”

8. Click on the “Restart” button to reboot your PC.

9. On the Startup Settings screen, press 4 or F4 key to boot your PC in Safe Mode.

In conclusion, booting in Safe Mode in Windows 11 is a useful tool to diagnose and troubleshoot problems with your PC. Whether you’re using the System Configuration tool, the Shift key or the Settings app, you can easily switch to Safe Mode and resolve any issues that you may have been facing. Remember, once you’re done fixing the issue, you’ll have to revert to normal boot mode by unchecking the “Safe boot” option in the System Configuration tool
