Halle Bailey says she made one major diet change when she was pregnant

Halle Bailey, the enchanting voice behind Ariel in Disney’s live-action “The Little Mermaid,” recently revealed the one significant dietary adjustment she made during her pregnancy. While many expecting mothers grapple with cravings and nausea, the singer-actress opted for a surprisingly simple, yet impactful change: cutting out alcohol entirely.

“I just stopped drinking completely,” Bailey shared in a recent interview. “I wanted to make sure I was giving my baby the best start possible, and that included avoiding alcohol.”

This decision aligns with the widely accepted medical consensus that alcohol consumption during pregnancy can have serious consequences for the developing fetus. While moderate alcohol intake is generally considered safe for adults, pregnant women are advised to abstain entirely. Alcohol can lead to fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASDs), a range of physical, mental, and behavioral problems that can last a lifetime.

Bailey’s choice reflects a growing awareness among expecting mothers of the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle during pregnancy. While she did not elaborate on other dietary changes, her focus on alcohol abstinence demonstrates a commitment to ensuring the well-being of her unborn child.

This straightforward approach to pregnancy nutrition sends a powerful message, encouraging others to prioritize their baby’s health by making conscious choices about what they consume. As Bailey embarks on this exciting new chapter, her dedication to a healthy pregnancy serves as an inspiring example for mothers-to-be worldwide.
