Basically, “inquiry” is a teaching method that allows learners to build on their prior learning and experiences. Learners are given the primary responsibility for developing new skills and revising their beliefs about how the world works. It is also a type of learning in which the emphasis is on learning by doing and mirroring the work of scientists as they actively discover knowledge.

The educator is the facilitator who guides learners in the path of exploration and helps them take ownership of their learning process.

In this video, you hear how educators implement inquiry-based learning to shift the learners’ attention toward knowledge exploration. Educators want their learners to be involved in the process of gathering knowledge, and the best way to do so is through inquiry-based learning.
